    Our architecturally designed campsite building houses all of the facilities you need to make the most of your glamping experience

    Our campsite is made up of 10 luxury glamping Bell Tents, each with it’s own sea view and private front porch and seating area.

    An indoor event space which can be used as a dining room, cinema room or children’s play area.

    Your own private sea access and pier only 5 mins from the campsite.

    Covered Terrace

    A large all-weather covered terrace with a seating area and fire pit. Includes complimentary kiln-dried logs.

  • Kitchen

    Our fully equipped double kitchen features 2 x ovens, 2 x fridges, 2 x hobs, 2 x microwaves & a dishwasher.

  • Welcome Pack

    A welcome pack on arrival includes scones, locally produced honey & blackberry jam, and marshmallows.

  • Showers & Toilets

    The communal building houses clean toilets and hot showers, as well as a washing machine and drying area.

  • Tableware

    All tableware and cookware is included, as well as fresh bed linen and towels for each guest.

  • BBQ Area

    The BBQ area features 2 x gas and 2 x charcoal BBQs, with complimentary kiln dried logs for the fire pit.

Things to do

With the distinct, easy charm of rural places, Bere Island is a quiet island paradise full of things to do. At a size manageable for walkers and cyclists, there is plenty to enjoy during your island adventure.

 

  • Swimming

    There are plenty of popular swimming spots on the island but jumping off the pier by the glamping site at high tide is a firm favourite.

  • Kayaking

    In partnership with Bantry Bay Boats, we offer kayaking rental and organised tours around Lawrence Cove from the glamping site.

  • Large Green Area

    Our large green spaces are perfect for running, hopping, skipping, kicking a ball, chasing butterflies and anything else you can think of.

  • Hiking

    Choose from 5 main trails, from 30 minutes to 8 hours, that bring you through the views across Beara, the Slieve Miskish and the Caha mountains.

  • Cycling

    Offering various levels of difficulty for cyclists, choose from level routes for a relaxing cycle, or hilly climbs as part of the Beara Cycle Way.

  • Rock Pools

    Explore the underwater world of weird and wonderful sea creatures and barnacle-encrusted rocks in the rock pools around the island.

  • Historical Trails

    Learn about Bere Island’s rich military history at the Heritage Centre, and visit the remains of military fortifications across the island.

  • Beaches

    Visit the island’s two beaches Scairt and Cloughland. Scairt Beach is a hidden gem with its clear water and sandy shores.

    Avail of the on-site BBQ area. We have two gas and two charcoal BBQs. Fuel is provided for both.
