Fergal O’Connor
Fergal O’Connor is a musician, composer, and facilitator with a deep passion for music as a healing force. With a Diploma in Music, Management, and Sound, he has been composing and performing since 1995, shaping Cork’s holistic music scene. He studied Indian classical music in India and African drumming with John Bowker and Nana Tsubo, enriching his diverse musical style. Fergal has collaborated with Liam O’Maonlaí, Rónán Ó Snodaigh, and international acts like The Buena Vista Social Club and Afro-Cuban Allstars. His work has extended to spiritual and mental health spaces, performing for Amma (Mata Amritanandamayi Ma) and alongside Dr. Gabor Maté. As a composer, he has created soundtracks for TG4 and RTÉ Radio Doc on One, includingCoois Moire, Na Lumière Gaelacha and The Real Carrie Jade. He has also produced healing music albums and worked on interdisciplinary projects blending music, poetry, and movement. A dedicated music facilitator, he has led drumming and wellness workshops across Ireland, working with schools, businesses, and large-scale events. His performances include IMMA’s Earth Rising Festival, the Bere Island Festival, and collaborations with Markéta Irglová. Fergal’s work is rooted in holistic practices, with training in sound healing, craniosacral therapy, Somatic bodywork, yoga and forest bathing making him a unique voice in Ireland’s musical and wellness landscape.
